Why, hello life!

It's been a long time since I blogged....or even written my thoughts down, haha.

Life's busy to say the least. Between school, work, and InterVarsity, I have very little free time. The free time I do have though I cherish. I usually spend it by myself soaking in the presence of God or hanging out with friends or trying to get to know the new freshmen.

These freshmen are awesome, haha. I didn't expect to have such a big heart for them this year, but God yet again showed me my heart is always for the new students, to show them how evident His love is on our campus and in our lives as well. I hope so much for them, I pray so much for them...and I have a feeling that they won't disappoint.

Trilogy is next weekend! I'm so excited!!! 97 students coming from UC Merced, which in total makes up 1/5 of the whole conference! God has been so faithful to us this past week...bringing in over 40 people to go to Trilogy within 3 days....a spontaneous $3000 donation....God is moving....AAAAAWWWWW!!!! How can I not be excited for this next weekend? But at the same time, I know there's a lot to prepare for. My heart, soul, and spirit needs to be prepared by the Spirit and be ready to love and lead. If everyone who goes to Trilogy next weekend has an encounter with God, whether it be through the sessions, the messages, the worship, or just talking with friends, my heart will soar in love cuz then I know that revival will be at hand :).

Well...that's it for now. I still can't get passed at how faithful God has been to me the past few weeks. New friendships...stronger relationships...new discipleship...kinda hard to believe that God trusts me so much with His sheep! Yet, I know I can do it because God knows I can do it. Yeahuh! gg.

Ok...gotta get ready for today. My cousin's bday party is in a couple hours and then I have my friend's wedding to go to after that!

After twenty-eight years of The Bridge Church being my central tribe, it's time to spread my wings. A couple weeks ago, God opened up the opportunity for me to be the next Youth Director at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fresno. After much prayer and introspection, I accepted the position. I officially wrap up at The Bridge in a couple weeks and begin at Trinity Lutheran in June. A part of me is quite excited for this new opportunity. A part of me is still dumbfounded that this is happening. Awake!

Ephesians 5:14 Therefore it says, "Awake, o sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you." Being back from OGN for a little more than 12 hours, I have had a bit of time to process through everything that I have learned, everything that happened, all the experiences I had. One thing I can say for sure is that God has awakened my soul, and I'm never going back to that state of slumber. The place I am in right now is the best, for I am always in His presence! No matter what I'm feeling, whether it's joy or sorrow, my soul will always turn me to the One who loves and saves. My God Who Weeps: Lament & Grief, the Gospel, and Pastoral Ministry

       During my seminary years, one of the most important courses I took was grief counseling. Although only an elective, grief counseling was healing for myself and helped me understand how pastors and ministry leaders have an important call to provide care for people who have experienced loss in our congregations. For me, grief refers to the process of experiencing the physical, psychological, behavioral, and social reactions to the perception of loss (Rando, 1993). Attune to this calling for myself, I could see all over social media that people were grieving in some manner because of the pandemic.       Towards the end of 2020, I saw a particular social media post from the parent of a former student who was expressing her frustration over the postponement of student athletics in the Central Valley and the toll it has had on all of her teenage kids.
